Designing of any products, aggregates, units and machines in refrigeration engineering as in any other machine-building industry, consists of the following stages:
- Technical specifications (initial technical data may be drawn up instead of technical specifications).
- Technical proposal.
- Sketch design.
- Technical design.
- Working design documentation (Working design).

The design documentation is an ultimate goal and product of design process. Products, systems, units, aggregates, etc will be manufactured upon this documentation in future.

Working design documentation:
a) of a prototype (pilot batch) of the product intended for serial (mass) or one-off production (except for single manufacturing)

Correction of design documentation according to the results of remanufacturing and preliminary testing of a prototype (pilot batch) with documents lettering “О”.
Acceptance tests of the prototype (pilot batch).
Correction of design documentation according to the results of acceptance tests of the prototype (pilot batch) with documents lettering “О1”.
For the product designed as per the Defense Ministry order, if necessary, – remanufacturing and testing of the prototype (pilot batch) according to the documentation with letter “О1” and correction of design documents with lettering “О2”.
b) of serial (mass) production
Manufacturing and testing of consistency batch according to the documentation with letter “О1” (or “О2”).
Correction of design documentation according to the results of manufacturing and testing of consistency batch, as well as the equipment of technological process for product manufacturing with design documents lettering “А”.
For the product designed as per the Defense Ministry order, if necessary, – manufacturing and testing of initial (inspection) batch according to the documentation with letter “А” and respective correction of documents with lettering “B”.
Technical specifications (hereafter referred as TS or technical specifications) are the basis for designing the refrigeration equipment (refrigeration machine, condensing unit, condenserless unit, compressor and receiver unit), cooling chambers of conditioning, ventilation and heating system and equipment from any other machine-building industries. The technical specifications are agreed between two or more Parties –Customer, Developer (Designer), organization that carries out the mounting works (if not Designer) and other subcontractors (for example, the organization that carries out commissioning works).
